ABOUT MY CLASSES

Psychology

This lecture-based course is designed for college-bound students with an emphasis on upon theory, experimentation, testing and especially self-evaluation.  Topics covered include personality, conditioning, sleep, hypnosis, drugs and abnormal psychology.

AP Psychology

This discussion-based course is a theoretical study of personality, mental health and mental illness, biology’s impact on behavior and social psychology.  Vital aspects of the course include research papers, a full class presentation by each student and introspective self analysis based on psychological self-report tests.

American Civics

This freshman course is the study of citizenship in our democracy and includes the study of the Constitution, the election process and how they relate to the students. In addition, the functions and responsibilities of the legislative, executive and judicial branches and state, county, and local government are covered. Current topics are also explored through the study of national and international events. Emphasis is placed upon the responsibilities of being a citizen of the community and of the world.
